Volunteer Ladies, Inc. - Miami
Professionals and housewives volunteering to help organizations and charitable foundations carry out their projects of rehabilitation, education, care for helpless and disabled children and the elderly, as well as helping families in situations of abuse. We help with communal kitchens projects and with food in communities of extreme poverty. We support foundations with the same purpose of helping the needy and foundations with programs in defense of abused women, girls and boys in Miami. These projects must always be supported by one of our own members or must be presented to the board with all valid documentation so that we may be able to do a due diligence and proceed to approve them.
We focus our efforts on fundraising events including a Spring Bingo, Autumn Concert, El Chocolate Santafereño (Christmas party) and spring, summer, and Christmas raffles with the goal of supporting the projects we select. Our chapter currently has 36 active members and 20 associate members, and our activities are scheduled and planned during our monthly working meetings.

OUTSTANDING PROJECT
Helping the San José de Tadó Hospital (Chocó) to face the COVID-19 pandemic.
Delivery of donations to the hospital, groceries, masks and wheelchairs to the poorest in the region.
PROJECT IN DEVELOPMENT
The Amazon Needs Our Help!
The indigenous people on the banks of the Amazon River in Colombia are threatened by COVID-19 and without the means to protect themselves. Colombian Volunteer Ladies, Inc. has been helping this region for several years and now we are launching our campaign to help in the COVID-19 pandemic.
The food shortage is extreme due to the forced confinement. CVL has delivered nearly 1,000 kits with basic food and medicine, toiletries, masks and toys for children. Now we need to help the Puerto Nariño hospital, the closest hospital to these communities. This hospital needs all kinds of supplies to care for infected patients and protect their medical personnel. The structure of the hospital needs urgent repairs to face the strong storms in that region. Due to the lack of other means of transportation, patients are transferred by boat or by volunteers on stretchers made of PVC and plastic capsules. WE NEED YOUR HELP!
